CHURCH HISTORY
The Well Church Greensboro was founded in November 2019 by Lead Pastors Ronnie and Tameka Owens with a vision to create a Christ-centered community where people could encounter God’s presence, grow in faith, and walk in purpose.
What began as a summer of intimate Bible studies in the Owens’ home soon grew into a desire for a permanent gathering place. In November 2019, God opened the door to 1210 Grove Street in Greensboro, NC, where the first ministry home was established. The weeks that followed were filled with prayer, painting, and preparation, leading to the church’s very first event—a Couples’ Vision Board Party in January 2020.
Just as the ministry was beginning to take shape, the world was shaken by the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020. Like so many churches and families, The Well faced the challenges of an uncertain season. Yet even in the midst of hardship, the mission remained unshaken. Through virtual worship services, online fellowship, and digital discipleship, The Well not only continued—it grew. What the enemy meant for disruption, God used for expansion, drawing people from near and far into a thriving, faith-filled community.
Today, The Well stands as a place of hope, healing, and wholeness. Rooted in the Word of God and led by the Spirit, our heart is to reach the lost, disciple believers, and empower people to walk boldly in their God-given calling. Whether in-person or online, we are committed to creating an atmosphere where lives are transformed and Jesus is lifted high.
At The Well, we believe everyone has a place, everyone has a purpose, and everyone can experience the living water that only Christ provides.
